I'M CONSIDERING BEING BAPTIZED

We believe in Baptism as a powerful sacrament which tells
the world we are dedicating our hearts and lives to Christ.

Baptism does not save us. It’s symbolic of the salvation you have experienced and a public expression of your faith in Jesus, communicating to the world your heartfelt commitment to follow Him.

We believe that water baptism is a public declaration of three important things:

  • You're a follower of Jesus Christ.
  • You're beginning a changed life in Christ.
  • You're a part of a new family.

If you have accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior and have never been baptized, then baptism is your next step. And it’s up to you how you want that to occur – sprinkling or immersion. We’ve experienced beautiful moments in our sanctuary, in the Intracoastal Waterway, the river, or even in someone’s backyard pool through the years.

If you have ever (as an infant, child, or adult) been baptized by water (sprinkling or immersion), you do not need to be baptized again. If you are wanting to renew your commitment or seeking to rededicate your life to God, we can discuss meaningful ways to do that, including getting connected in a small group and focusing on growing your relationship with God.

Sharon Methodist Church celebrates baptisms with our congregation! If you're ready to take the next step towards baptism, or want to know more about the process, please contact us. We would love the opportunity to meet with you to discuss your spiritual journey and the possibility of baptism.
